LG's CES 2026 TV Lineup: Wallpaper, Micro RGB, and Gallery TVs Take Center Stage (2026)

Imagine a TV so thin it practically disappears on your wall, offering breathtaking picture quality and seamless integration into your home. That's the promise of LG's CES 2026 TV lineup, and it's a vision that's hard to ignore. This year, LG is bringing back its ultra-thin "Wallpaper" TV, alongside exciting advancements in display technology, including Micro RGB and an enhanced Gallery TV experience.

The Wallpaper TV (LG W6)

If money were no object, wouldn't you want a 100-inch LG Wallpaper TV in your living room? It's almost unbelievable how thin it is, resembling something out of a science fiction movie. But it's not just about looks; it delivers the vibrant colors and deep blacks that OLED technology is known for. Cable management is a breeze with a single power cable, and the A/V inputs are handled by LG's One Connect box, which you can place wirelessly up to 10 meters away.

The LG W6 is packed with LG's best OLED technology, including "Hyper Radiant Color" for improved blacks and color accuracy, "Brightness Booster Ultra" which makes the picture 3.9 times brighter than conventional OLEDs, and a reflection-free screen. The Alpha 9 Gen 3 processor enhances performance, with its NPU improving upscaling and image quality. And, if you're into it, you can access generative AI features via Microsoft Copilot and Google Gemini.

All of this combines to create one of the most remarkable TVs I've seen in years. I've been unimpressed with other TV gimmicks lately, like those trying to copy Samsung's The Frame or the underwhelming 8K sets. But a super-thin, wireless TV with the best OLED panel available? That's what dreams are made of.

The Gallery TV: A Challenger to Samsung's Frame

LG is making a more serious effort to compete with Samsung's popular Frame TV in 2026. Designed with input from museum curators, the new Gallery TVs feature "Gallery Mode" to adjust brightness and contrast for specific artworks. They also come with magnetic, frame-like bezels and anti-reflective screens to make the art pop.

While the new Gallery TV looks good in person, it's clear that the colors and contrast don't match LG's premium OLED TVs. To avoid burn-in issues, these sets use Mini LED panels. I'm not the target audience for this type of TV, but it's good to see more competition against Samsung's Frame TVs. But here's where it gets controversial: despite pioneering the idea of TVs displaying art, the Frame sets are still fairly mediocre when it comes to watching TV shows and movies.

Micro RGB: A Mini LED Upgrade?

Prepare for another TV acronym: Micro RGB. This new technology builds upon Mini LED to offer a wider color range. Don't confuse it with Micro LED, which is a more advanced (and expensive) technology. LG's Micro RGB set was unveiled a few weeks before CES, but seeing the 100-inch demo TV at the show was still impressive. The colors looked incredibly rich, and the image texture was surprisingly lifelike.

It would be interesting to compare Micro RGB directly with LG's Wallpaper TV to see how it compares to OLED. OLED technology should still offer better contrast and black levels, since each pixel is self-emissive. But, if I couldn't have a 100-inch Wall TV, I certainly wouldn't turn down a Micro RGB.

What About LG's Other OLED TVs?

All the next-generation OLED technology in the Wallpaper TV will also be available in LG's G6 OLED models, while the new C6 and other lines will also see improvements. The new G6 OLED looked impressive, with a noticeably brighter picture and improved HDR elements compared to G-series OLEDs from previous years.

So, what do you think of LG's vision for the future of TVs? Are you excited about the Wallpaper TV, or do you prefer the Gallery TV concept? Let me know your thoughts in the comments!
