In addition to Leonard's standout contribution, John Collins also played a significant role, contributing 15 points on an efficient 6-of-9 shooting. Yanic Konan Niederhauser matched Collins’ total by adding another 15 points to the scoreboard. The turning point for the Clippers came during a dominant stretch at the end of the third quarter, where they outscored the Timberwolves 17-3.
Leading the Timberwolves was Anthony Edwards, who managed to put up 23 points, while Julius Randle added 17 points. Unfortunately for Minnesota, this loss marked their third defeat in the last four games, all against teams with records below .500. This trend of poor performance continued into the first half of the game against the Clippers, where Leonard exploded for 24 points, helping the Clippers establish a commanding 54-42 advantage thanks to an 18-2 run late in the second quarter.
