A&M sophomore Aiden Ross clinches The Voice crown, stunning judges and audiences alike
Few Aggies can boast they wowed a panel that included Michael Bublé, Snoop Dogg, Niall Horan, and Reba McEntire. Yet Aiden Ross did just that, delivering a standout performance that captured the nation’s attention and earned him the season’s top prize in a dramatic finale alongside five other finalists.
After weeks of high-stakes rounds and extraordinary performances, Ross emerged as the winner in the final showdown. This season’s journey featured Ross under the guidance of coach Niall Horan, who selected him to represent Team Horan in the climactic moment. Ross credits Horan with being an exceptional mentor throughout the process.
“I feel a strong connection with him. He has been a fantastic mentor, and he also crafts the kind of music I aspire to make someday,” Ross shared. “I’m not a full-time student right now, though I’m still taking classes. Balancing schoolwork with music has been a fun yet genuinely challenging experience.”
Ross is pursuing a degree in industrial distribution at Texas A&M, a path he chose instead of pursuing music as his major. He previously admitted he feared there might not be a place for him in the music world, but The Voice changed that perspective and lit a brighter path forward as the competition progressed.
“I couldn’t see a clear path at first. I didn’t think there was room for me,” Ross recalled. “But once The Voice started, a light appeared, and the further I moved through the process, that light kept burning brighter.”
Although he didn’t major in music, Ross found a channel for his passion while at Aggieland. His turning point came when he joined the a cappella group HardChord DynaMix, where he was welcomed warmly despite joining midstream.
“I think that’s one of the university’s special qualities—it's a big place, yet there’s a spot for everyone who seeks it,” he explained.
In September, Ross released his debut single, “Everything and More,” which has garnered nearly 150,000 streams. Winning The Voice has boosted his confidence and commitment to pursuing music with everything he has.
“I’m ready to dedicate myself fully to music,” he stated.
